On 11 Apr 72, near An Loc Blue Max was covering slicks from my company, A/229. This one took a hit in the fuel cell and almost made to the active at Lai Khe. Magilla and Jet walked away from the crash.
The blond maint guy in the center died a couple years ago of lung cancer, and cannot remember his name.
The short guy in the center is the btry maint off who had spent the night before getting this snake flyable at Long Thanh North. Skip, somebody, who now lives in Wash State.
I submitted this picture back in 99 to a guy putting a book together of helo crashes for Squadron books, and it is on the back cover.
