Ron Timberlake, the late RT, gave me the picture of the F/9 Cav Cobras killing the C130 on or about 22 April 1972. The 130 was told to NOT drop its load over An Loc, pilot did it anyway, got hosed, wing caught on fire, crash landed north of Lai Khe, south of Tan Kai, in front of some F/9 slicks that were hauling ass down Hwy 13. The 130 crew was rescued by F/9. The Cobras were killing the C130 because the AF did not have assets at the moment, the emergency location transmitter was killing the guard freq. The first run was at the cockpit because F/9 did not know ELT was in the tail. Killed the ELT on the second pass. RT said it was like watching a Shark frenzy as the Snakes rolled hot on the Herc
